DREAMS TULUM RESORT AND SPA
Last year in June I went on a familiarization trip for work. It was the most intense week of visiting hotels and eating galore or “tasting,” which ever is the more elegant of the two. Who knew it was possible to see so many properties in one trip. It left a little desire to want to return. Now-a-days there are many options when it comes to places to stay when travelling. However, I think that there is something to be said when staying at a property that is home away from home. Not to mention that some have great amenities and access to activities to keep one entertained while on vacation. And if you are looking to just have one lazy week on a beach chair, then do what your heart desires. Even though this trip was “Destination Wedding” focused, it shows how well versed a hotel can be. It goes to show the lengths they will go for their guests, but making sure it is a holiday as well.
Dreams Tulum was a property we visited that was a great treat. They made sure we were attending a wedding during our visit. It started at the chapel which is on site and it really gave the feeling of attending a wedding. Plus look at the vibrant blue of the chapel, it really is an art piece!
There are many types of rooms offered in the hotel and a swim out is always a good idea. As an ex- competitive swimmer this is a great selling feature. Probably would just roll out of bed and take a dip in the AM. The suites were spacious and very welcoming.
Everything about this property is indulging and comforting. While viewing the resort all I could think about is how I wanted to return to really have a full experience as the facade was extremely well done.
Dreams Tulum really showcased weddings well, as it was the purpose of the trip. Their displays were very well done and it assured all the agents that were visiting that their clients would be taken care of. It show cases the amount of detail they will go to for those wanting a destination wedding. For every bride presentation is key!
After the parties are done or maybe before the high of getting married a little R’N’R at Dreams Tulum Spa is well worth it. Walking through the palm tree forest was a delight and relaxing even in the heat.
It’s always hard to say good bye when the party vacation is done, but the memories last a lifetime.
I really can’t wait to go back to Dreams Tulum. It was a great experience to walk through, but also the hospitality was one of the best out of all the resorts we visited. A must see!

Into the Wild
Into the wild I go! Over the Canada day long weekend I spent it far away from the city. It was an adventure worth every moment. The room over looked a small rolling hill into the lake. It was refreshing to wake up and hear birds chirping and smelling nothing but fresh air. Tyax Wilderness Resort was home away from home. The lodge had everything one could ask for. In house there is a spa with steam room, sauna and hot tub. Yoga is offered in the morning to keep your relaxation in check. Included with the stay was access to kayaks, canoes and paddling boarding. All of which I tried and found a new love for being out doors.
My travel partner and I got creative with breakfast and lunch.. Let’s just say snacks galore! Dinner was enjoyed and I had the same thing two nights in a row, only because it was so delicious.
Arugula salad with goat cheese and bison burger. However, I am lactose intolerant and gluten free. It’s not the best, but Tyax has a small garden on site and the greens were fresh. The meal was filling, no wonder I had it two nights in a row.
It was an amazing time to relax and just get away from the city life. I am no camper, but I can manage the lodge life and will have to go back again.
Thanks Tyax Wilderness Resort for a great time!

BOOMERANG VILLAGE RESORT
When dreaming of beach getaways I always think of a place that is far away! Boomerang Village Resort in Phuket, Thailand was the relaxation and peace that was required. I always find taking photos of a hotel a little bizarre as I would rather embrace it to the fullest. However, I still managed to take a few.
I really enjoyed the fact that it felt more like going home instead of staying at a hotel. The room had a king size bed, and a rain shower. To me those were all I really needed as I spent time outside as I had planned.
Every morning I made sure to eat as much as I could. Breakfast was coffee, orange juice, fruit, eggs and sausage. It was included with my stay. Now-a-days there is so many types of “hotel stays” that one can find. However, I believe it is nice to wake up in the morning to know where breakfast is, instead of having to go looking for it.
Phuket kept me in shape for sure, as did the hotel. There was a bit of a trek to get to the top. The hill was tough to walk up after eating too much, but at least I burned off what I ate. HA! The one thing I somewhat embraced, but not completely was how quiet the resort was. I’ve been so use to noise being all around me that I found it strange to hear nothing. However, if you are a couple looking to getaway from everything and everyone, this is the place to be. Overall my two week stay might have been long to some, but was filled with a great stay and many fun filled activities.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort
It’s raining as it does here in Vancouver, BC. It’s days like these I day dream about sitting on a beach or relaxing by the pool with a cold drink on the side. In 2014 I was on a work trip down to Los Cabos, Mexico at the Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf and Spa Resort. Los Cabos has gained momentum over the years as a popular destination. There are breath taking views of the ocean, since Los Cabos is situated on a peninsula between two bodies of water. It really gives beach lovers the best of both worlds. However, due to some waters being rough, some beaches are un-swimable. Mexico in general is the place you have a little bit of everything; from the popular all inclusive resorts to cultural and heritage sites. If you are an adventure seeker or boat lover Los Cabos has all the activities to keep you busy and entertained. It’s a little lap of luxury only a plane ride away.
AM Resorts has multiple properties in Los Cabos and the rest of Mexico. Additional properties are in Costa Rica, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf and Spa Resort is an all inclusive property with restaurants, pools, spa and a lush green golf course. There are plenty of activities for guests to enjoy with their stay at the hotel. The moment a guest arrives at the resort it is a feeling of luxury and an oasis from the city. Within AM Resorts they have their Sip, Savor & See. This showcases their restaurants and cafes for each property.
While staying at Secrets I stayed in a Junior Suite with an Ocean View. The bathroom alone was half the size of the suite. It housed a full bath tub and a shower you don’t ever want to leave. Every morning it was a delight to wake up and overlook the golf course and have ocean view, it was miraculous! Other suites in the hotel included : Junior Suite Swim – Out Ocean View or a Garden View. Also available are the Presidential Suite and Presidential Suite Swim-Out. For those who are water lovers the swim-out is a great option for the morning dip before or after your workout.
Once you’ve had a good nights rest and over looking the ocean or garden views, Secrets offers a variety of culinary choices. You can enjoy morning breakfast or afternoon lunches at the Barefoot Grill. The views are speculator over looking the ocean and while on vacation it is a popular morning remedy to feed the soul. Coco Cafe is a small stop within the resort to grab your morning coffee or a quick bite to eat. Market Cafe offers a full service buffet breakfast. There is plenty to choose from juices, coffees, fresh fruit, breads and so much more. You won’t be leaving unsatisfied.
Mexicans are known for their cuisine and dinner at the El Patio proved that. Not only was the restaurant designed on point, as was the food. Other restaurants on site are Himitsu, Oceana, Portofino, and Seaside Grill. The menus are al carte and some do require a reservation, which can be made hours before dinner.
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf and Spa Resort not only offers your traditional amenities of an all inclusive, but gives you the feeling of luxury and relaxation. Onsite there is a gym, spa and spaces to house events. All amenities are available for guest. The spa being an additional charge, but something we just need to pamper ourselves. Interested in any activities off site the hotel is able to create the itinerary. When staying at Secrets the guest are wrist band free. No unnecessary tan lines for this all inclusive resort.
It was a pleasure to have stayed at this resort.
For those looking into a couples retreat it offers the perfect getaway.
